Black Music Honors 2023: Hosts and Honorees Announced


The Black Music Honors celebrate Black musical excellence and acknowledge the contributions of African-American artists who have made significant musical contributions to African-American culture and American music worldwide.


The dynamic duo of
LeToya Luckett and DeRay Davis will return as co-hosts with their infectious charisma and electric energy. The televised tribute will debut on the Stellar Network TV on June 3 and will be nationally broadcasted from June 10 to July 2, with an airing on Bounce TV on June 19.

The upcoming 8th Annual Black Music Honors is set to premiere in June, featuring a special salute to the late Bobby Caldwell's soulful legacy that transcended racial boundaries. The celebration will include performances by music heavyweights such as Tamar Braxton, Anthony Hamilton feat. The Ton3s, Tina Campbell, Robin Thicke, Juvenile, Lil' Mo, Kenny Lattimore, 702, Raheem DeVaughn, Dave Hollister, Elle Varner, Sevyn Streeter, Nicole Wray, Tweet, Beverly Crawford, Le'Andria Johnson, Zacardi Cortez, Latocha Scott, Melvin Williams, The Shindellas, Kelontae Gavin, and Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling and Juvenile.









Founder and Executive Producer Don Jackson expressed his excitement about the event: "As we come together to celebrate the rich cultural milestone that is Black Music Month, we get the unique opportunity to showcase the depth and breadth of talent within the Black music community." The Black Music Honors will also honor Bobby Caldwell with a special salute, and other awards include Music Innovator Icon for Missy Elliott, Urban Music Icon for SWV, R&B Music Icon for Evelyn "Champagne" King, Legends Award for Jeffrey Osborne, and Gospel Music Icon for The Hawkins Family.






The Black Music Honors is an annual event that recognizes the legendary African-American artists who have made significant musical contributions to African-American culture and American music worldwide. The event, presented by Procter & Gamble, showcases the best of Black music with a star-studded lineup of performers. The event is a powerful tribute to the rich legacy of African-American music and is timed to coincide with Black Music Month.
